History

Bösingen is first mentioned in 1228 as ''Basens''. The municipality was formerly known by its French name ''Bésingue'', however, that name is no longer used. Between 1953–62 it was known as ''Grossbösingen''.


Geography

The municipality is located in the Sense district.
