The New Zealand catshark, ''Bythaelurus dawsoni'', is a catshark of the family Scyliorhinidae in the order Carcharhiniformes. This species is endemic to in the deep waters around New Zealand. It feeds on bottom-living crustaceans. It is also completely harmless to humans.
