Bruchsal – Schwetzingen was created in 2002 and contained parts of the redistributed constituencies of '' Karlsruhe-Land'' and ''
Heidelberg Heidelberg (; Palatine German language, Palatine German: ''Heidlberg'') is a city in the States of Germany, German state of Baden-Württemberg, situated on the river Neckar in south-west Germany. As of the 2016 census, its population was 159,914 ...
''. In the 2002 and 2005 elections, it was constituency 279 in the numbering system. Since the 2009 election, it has been number 278. Its borders have not changed since its creation.
