Career

Kelly began his journalism career in 1976 at the ''Red Bank Register'', under Art Kamin. From there he took a job in Chicago at the ''Chicago-Sun Times'' as an assistant business editor, and lead reporter, he covered politics and economics. In 1985, Kelly moved to Washington, D.C. to take the helm as the editor of ''
