Career

In addition to his career in local politics, Blad is the owner of a local business, Merlin's Insulation. He was sworn into office as mayor in January 2010. He is concurrently serves as chief executive officer of the city, where he manages day-to-day operations of the city's government. Before entering politics, Blad was a member of the executive board of the non-profit Blow-in-Blanket Contractor's Association.
