History

The first section of the Birmingham and Gloucester Railway, between and Cheltenham, opened on 24 June 1840, and among the original stations was one at Bredon. The station was from , and the adjacent stations and opened the same day. The station closed to goods on 1 July 1963, and to passengers on 4 January 1965. The line through the site of the station remains in use as part of the Bristol to Birmingham main line.
