Sack was born in
Le Sueur, Minnesota to Wilma Mary (Hyink) and Rev. Nobel V. Sack. He grew up in Iowa and graduated from
Lewis & Clark College, then attended the
University of Oregon School of Medicine where he graduated in 1960.
