History
The name ''Booral'' is a Kabi language word meaning either ''tall'' (relating to the sky god ''Beiral'') or ''burrall'' meaning ''place of shell mounds''.[ Many shell mounds have been found along the coastline, arising from Aboriginal people feasting on shellfish.
