History

The lighthouse was first established in 1871 and it was automated in 1986. The lighthouse was listed as a protected site in 2000. The tall lighthouse emits a white, red, or green light (depending on direction) occulting twice every 8 seconds. The 16,200 candela light can be seen for up to . In 1977, a Racon beacon was established.
