The name, Bhuragaon derived from Assamese word Bhur (ভূৰ) , which means a flat floating structure made of buoyant materials like wood, banana tree, bamboo or reed. And the word Gaon means village. In past time, native people use this bhur as a medium of transport. Later, this place came to known as Bhuragaon. Bhur, primarily used in
