Mondor was born in March 1925 in Saint-Ignace-du-Lac,

He was a two-time winner of the International League's executive of the year award (1978, 1999). In 1982, Mondor was awarded an honorary doctorate of public service degree from Rhode Island College, and was inducted to the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame in 1984. He was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2004, and given an honorary day at
