Personal life

She is married to Australian director, playwright and screenwriter, Tony McNamara. They began their relationship in 2005. Together they have two children. Bromilow is a stepmother to McNamara's daughter from a previous marriage. She was diagnosed with bowel cancer ten weeks after her son was born. In 2019, Bromilow auctioned a pair of earrings she wore to the 91^st Academy Awards valued at $8,950. The earrings were designed by her friend, jewellery designer, Nicole Winkler. All proceeds from the auction were donated to the Australian organization, ''Mummy's Wish'', helping families of women diagnosed with cancer.
