The main settlement of Beals is located on Beals Island, which is connected by a bridge across Moosabec Reach to West Jonesport on the mainland. Beals Island is connected to the southeast by a short bridge to Great Wass Island, also within the town of Beals and comprising the Great Wass Island Preserve.
