In October 1997, he was appointed as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Ibadan and in 2002, he became the Chief Coordinator of Courses at the West African College of Surgeons. In 2012, he was elected as a fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, the apex academic organization in Nigeria.
