As a director of Haw Par Brothers (Pte.), he allowed a village to build a temple on a land that was owned by the company in 1947. He donated S$3,000 to the victims of a fire accident in 1967, S$2,000 for Singapore Association for the Blind in 1964. To sum up, he followed the footstep of his uncle Aw Boon Par as a philanthropist, but also involved in the day-to-day operation of the organizations.
