. He was married to Estrella Echeverria on January 22, 1936, at the Parish Church of Vedado, Havana, Cuba, who had two children, Alfredo and Delia (Lela) Sanchez Echeverria. His son, Alfredo Sanchez Echeverría (1936-12/15/2021) was ordered executed by the Castro regime but his sentence was commuted to 30 years and he served 14 years in prison (1961–1975). Sanchez Echeverria was allowed to go into exile in 1977, a few months after his father had died of a heart attack.
