''As Primaveras'' is divided in five parts: the Introduction, "Livro Primeiro" ("Book the First"), "Livro Segundo" ("Book the Second"), "Livro Terceiro" ("Book the Third") and "Livro Negro" ("Black Book"). The poems speak mostly of romantic love, longing for childhood and death, nationalism,
