In 1989 he was awarded the title of Senior Researcher in the specialty "Organization of production (construction)" by the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR. In 1996 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Economics. His dissertation was titled "Regional problems of the formation and implementation innovation policy in construction" of the specialty "Placing productive forces".
