Arbor Place Mall was built by and is still owned by CBL Properties (formally known as CBL & Associates). Along with this, Arbor Place Mall enforces a youth escort policy, known as YEP, stating youths under 17 must be accompanied by an adult on Friday and Saturday nights after 6:00pm. On November 7, 2019, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 96 stores nationwide. The store closed on February 16, 2020. On June 4, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would also be closing as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide. On July 19, 2020, the closure of the JCPenney location is cancelled.
