The initial, acoustic version of "Angel Down", officially released with the moniker " work tape" (as the last track on the deluxe edition of ''Joanne''), was written and produced by Gaga and RedOne in 2015, with the former handling piano and vocals, while the latter played on guitar and also programmed the track.
