Andrew II of Vitré (c. 1150 – 9 June 1211) was Baron de Vitré from 1173 to 1210/11.


Life

Andrew II of Vitré was the eldest son of Robert III, Baron of Vitré and his wife Emma of Dinan, daughter of Alan of Dinan. He succeeded his father in 1173. He had already fought with King Henry II Plantagenet in 1168. In the early 1180s, he took part to an armed pilgrimage to the Holy Land and came back to Brittany a few years later. In 1185, he was one of the noblemen who were present at the ''Assise au Comte Geoffroy''. In 1196, the
