Lund decided to retire in 2002 after failing to recover from a serious knee injury sustained in July 2000 during the preseason and worked as a salesman in his hometown

Although he scored on his debut, he later decided to quit claiming that he still felt pain in his knee and that he could not play if he trained, and vice versa.
