Kieffer was first elected to the House in 2010 and was re-elected in 2012. She announced on November 6, 2013 that she would not seek re-election in 2014. She was one of only 4 Republican representatives to vote in favor of the same-sex marriage bill passed by the House on May 9, 2013.
