History

Watthana Nakhon is an ancient city. Established before 1917 and originally named Watthana, it was a minor district ('' king amphoe'') in the
Aranyaprathet district Aranyaprathet ( th, อรัญประเทศ, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in Sa Kaeo province in Thailand. It borders Cambodia to the east. History Aranyaprathet was originally a district in the Kabin Buri Province. On 1 April 1926 the prov ...
, until it was upgraded to a full district on 6 June 1956.
