in Kavalur. This town is surrounded by mountains on all sides, which keeps Alangayam at a moderate temperature for most of the year. Alangayam comprises villages named Kalai Koil, Peddur, Badakuppam, Pulugarpalli, Gejjaloor, Bunkur, Rajapalayam, MGR Nagar, Narasingapuram, Kallaraipatti and Konkiyur.
