His novel, ''The Schoonermaster's Dance'', was joint winner of the ACT Book of the Year. Later books include a novel, ''The Lakewoman'', from Australian Scholarly Publishing, and a collection of poems, ''Folk Tunes'', from Salt Publishing, both in 2009.
