It consists of the cantons of Ambérieu-en-Bugey, Brénod, Champagne-in-Valromey, Hauteville-Lompnes, Izernore, Lhuis, Nantua, North Oyonnax, Oyonnax South, Poncin, Saint-Rambert-en-Bugey, Virieu-le-Grand. The constituency was first contested in the 2012 legislative elections.
