''Afgekia'' is a small genus of large
perennial climbing shrubs native to
Thailand in Asia, belonging to the family
.
They are reminiscent of the related genus of ''

Arthur Francis George Kerr (1877–1942), an
Irish-born plant collector who worked in then-
Siam in the early twentieth century. It was first described and published in Bull. Misc. Inform. Kew 1927 on page 376.
