, British India. His father, Abdul Wahed Sarkar was the owner of Islamia Rice in Hoogly Pandua. His family used to live in Thaipara, Pandua, Hooghly District but moved to Joypurhat District soon after the partition of India in 1950.


Career

Alim joined the Muslim League in 1958 and soon became Joint Secretary of the League. He served as the vice-chairman of Bogra District Unit of Muslim League. During the Bangladesh Liberation war he sided with Pakistan and was the chairman of the
