In his poem ', Aadan Carab, a Somali poet mentions on the incident stating "" Writer Idaaja interprets this message as stating that the aerial bombardment campaign was emblematic of a Dhulbahante ' (meaning broken / destroyed) orchestrated by the European colonialists:
