History
AEK's women's football team was founded in July 2021.
In the 2021/22 season, they competed in the Greek C Division, finishing top of their group
undefeated. Greek international player
Vasiliki Moskofidou was the top scorer of the league with 26 goals in 8 appearances. At the end of the season, AEK's manager Christos Christopoulos took the position of technical director, while Nikos Gkalitsios became the new head coach.
In 2022/23, they participated in the Greek B Division, in which they once again finished first in their group unbeaten. AEK had the best defence in the league that season, conceiding only twice. Their joined top scorers were Eirini Vasilakopoulou and Antonia Nika with 15 goals each.
2023/24 was their first season in
Greece's top division. AEK made some adjustments to their squad in the summer with the signings of Greek internationals
