History

2NBC was formed in 1974 by a group of local residents and the Narwee Baptist Church, interested in the idea of a community radio station. After test broadcasts in the early 1980s the group was granted a licence by the then

to provide a community broadcast service to the south and inner west suburbs of Sydney. Although 2NBC was spearheaded by the team from Narwee Baptist Church, the station has always been managed and programmed independently to the church.
