(IIHF). Teams were participating in several levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for division placements in the
2023 competition.
After all events, outside of the top division, were cancelled in 2021, the teams were set to stay put in their respective divisions. However, adjustments were made following the IIHF's suspension of Russia and Belarus during the
