The away match against Granada on 13 May was won 4–1, with goals coming from Modrić, Rodrygo, Odriozola and Benzema. Three days later, a goal from Nacho secured Madrid a 1–0 win at Athletic Bilbao. With that win, Real stayed in second position, two points behind leaders Atlético Madrid, with one match to go.
