This was Bangladesh's first win against India in a women's international cricket match, and India's first ever loss in the Asia Cup.
On 9 June 2018, Thailand beat Sri Lanka by four wickets to register their first ever win against a
Full Member side.
India were the first team to advance to the final, after they beat Pakistan by seven wickets in their final group game.
They were joined by Bangladesh, who beat Malaysia by 70 runs in their final match.
It was India's seventh consecutive Asia Cup final and the first for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh beat India by three wickets in the final to win their first Asia Cup title, and became the only other team to win the title besides India.
