were the defending champions after they defeated Erne Gaels in the previous years final, and they successfully defended their title when beating Devenish St. Mary's 0-15 to 0-8 to claim a "3-in-a-row" of titles. This season marked Kinawley Brian Boru's and Tempo Maguires return to the senior grade after claiming the I.F.C. title I.F.C. runners-up spot respectively. At the end of the season, Kinawley Brian Boru's were relegated back to the I.F.C. for 2018 after failing to win a match. They will be replaced by 2017 I.F.C. champions Belcoo O'Rahillys.
