. The inaugural event in 2014 finished in a tie, and so the Cup was shared between the teams. For the 2016 edition, the team size was increased from 10 to 12 with a corresponding increase in the number of matches from 20 to 24. The event had a $4,800,000 purse; $300,000 to each member of the winning team and $100,000 to each member of the losing team. Europe comfortably won the match 18½ to 5½ and, in doing so, became the first winners of the trophy.
