France won with a Grand Slam, for the fourth time, while England won the Calcutta Cup, in their only win. Originally the opening matches of the Championship were due to be played on the 24th January with England v Scotland at Twickenham and Wales v Ireland at Cardiff but both matches were called off due to the bad weather and postponed till the 4th April
