Calendar

The 1987 Australian 2.0 Litre Touring Car Championship was contested over a four-round series. * Six rounds had been scheduled, however two were cancelled. * The Sandown round was held concurrently with Round 7 of the 1987 Australian Touring Car Championship.


Points system

Championship points were awarded at each round on the following basis:A comparison of race results against progress pointscores published after Round 1 in Racing Car News, May 1987, page 36 indicates that points were awarded 30-27-24-21-19-17-15 etc. This is consistent with the CAMS "Scale A" points system which was published in the 1987 CAMS Manual of Motor Sport, pages 78-79 and is quoted here.
