Almost the whole Democratic ticket was elected, only the Republican incumbent Attorney General Ottinger managed to stay in office. The incumbents Smith and Ottinger were re-elected. The incumbents Lowman, Murphy and Wadsworth were defeated. The Democratic, Republican and Socialist parties maintained automatic
