Name

The name of the settlement was changed from ''Sveti Jurij pri Celju'' (literally, 'Saint George near Celje') to ''Šentjur pri Celju'' in 1952. The town was renamed again from ''Šentjur pri Celju'' to ''Šentjur'' in 1990.
