Ženski košarkaški klub Vršac ( sr-cyr, Женски кошаркашки клуб Вршац, en, Women's Basketball Club Vršac) is a Serbian women's basketball team from Vršac, Serbia. The club currently plays in First League of Serbia. ŽKK Vršac is a holder of 9 national championships and 11 national cups. They play their home games at the Millennium Centar. The First Women's Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Прва женска лига Србије, Prva ženska liga Srbije; abbr. ПЖЛС or PŽLS), is a top-tier women's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). The league is divided into two parts. The first part of the play all the clubs who have won a place in it. The 2010–11 Women's A Basketball League of Serbia was the 5th season of the First Women's Basketball League of Serbia, Serbia's highest-level professional basketball league. Košarkaški klub Vršac d.o.o. ( sr-cyr, Кошаркашки клуб Вршац), commonly referred to as KK Vršac, is a men's professional basketball club based in Vršac, Serbia. They are currently competing in the Basketball League of Serbia. Their home arena is the Millennium Centar, with a capacity of 4,400. Over the years, the club competed under different names, mostly after sponsor companies, carrying for an extended period of time the name of pharmaceutical company Hemofarm. 2012 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2012 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Serbia from 4 to 16 December. Originally the tournament was scheduled to be held in the Netherlands but on 4 June 2012 the Dutch Handball Federation withdrew from the organization. Subsequently, the European Handball Federation (EHF) launched a new bidding process and eventually selected Serbia as the new host on 18 June 2012. Montenegro captured their first title by defeating defending champion Norway 34–31 in the final. Host selection Initially on its meeting on 27 September 2008 the EHF awarded the championship to the Netherlands, beating the bids of Germany and Serbia.
