Ženski košarkaški klub Vrbas ( sr-cyr, Женски кошаркашки клуб Врбас, en, Women's Basketball Club Vrbas) is a Serbian women's basketball team from Vrbas, Serbia. The club currently plays in Serbian first league. History Vrbas was founded in 1975. He began working as a school section of the high school "Žarko Zrenjanin", which was led by Professor Zdravko Bjelica, to the same year became the club. The first coach was Peter Kankaraš. With more or less success, the club has been functioning for 40 years. At the end of the 80s competed in the Yugoslav Second Federal League which then played in venues all over Yugoslavia. First Women's Basketball League Of Serbia
The First Women's Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Прва женска лига Србије, Prva ženska liga Srbije; abbr. ПЖЛС or PŽLS), is a top-tier women's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). The league is divided into two parts. The first part of the play all the clubs who have won a place in it. In the second part, called the playoffs, they play eight first clubs from the first division. Play starts from the quarter-final of the series, where the winner is decided in two games, the same system is in the semifinals, while the final series game in three wins. Vrbas ( sr-Cyrl, Врбас; hu, Verbász) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. As of 2011, the town had a population of 24,112, while the municipality had 42,092 inhabitants. Name Its name stems from the word "Willow" in the Serbian language.
