	Šķēde Manor Šķēde Manor ( lv, Šķēdes muižas pils, german: Scheden) is a manor house in Šķēde Parish, Saldus Municipality in the historical region of Kurzeme, in Latvia. History The manor was first mentioned in 1461, when the master of the order Johann Osthoff von Mengede granted Johann Loewe and his heirs a plot called the Schedule. In 1501 the Master of the Livonian Order Wolter von Plettenberg gave it to Merten von den Brinken, whose family has owned it for 200 years. In 1729, H.H. von den Brinken's widow Margaret Veronica sells it to her son Gideon Heinrich von Zass. The Scheden Manor was built in the 18th century. A barns has been built on both sides of the parade courtyard, at the end of which the one-story masonry house was standing. 	Johann Osthoff Von Mengede Johann von Mengede (also Johann von Mengden, called Osthof) (c. 1400 — 15 August 1469) was a knight of the Teutonic Knights. Most notably, from 1442 to 1450, he was Komtur of Reval and then from 1450 to 1469 a Master (''Landmiester'') of the Livonian Order. He was elected as the Landmaster of Livonia in April, 1450.According to Neitmann Sommer 1469, Seraphim, p. 150 in May 1469, Napiersky, p. 47 (No. 2038), Mengede granted a fief on June 12, 1469. picture info	Wolter Von Plettenberg Wolter (or Walter) von Plettenberg (c. 1450 – February 28, 1535) was the Master (''Landmeister'') of the Livonian Order from 1494 to 1535 and one of the greatest leaders of the Teutonic knights. He was an important early Baltic German. Biography Wolter von Plettenberg was born in Welver (in Meyerich Castle), Westphalia. Belonging to the House of Plettenberg, he was the first child of his father Berthold von Plettenberg and his mother Gosteke Lappe, but had at least seven siblings. He went to work at the Fort of Narva at the age of ten and joined the Teutonic Order when he was about 14. In 1489 he was elected to marshal of the Order (''Landmarschall''), in 1491 he fought successfully against the city of Riga and was elected master in 1494.
