Şenol Güneş
Şenol Güneş, T.C., (, born 1 June 1952) is a Turkish football manager and former player. His most notable managerial achievements to date include coaching the Turkey national team to third place in the 2002 FIFA World Cup and winning two Süper Lig titles; both of them with Beşiktaş. He is also noted for stints in his boyhood club Trabzonspor, which plays their current games in a stadium named after him. His playing career there saw the club win all 6 of their Süper Lig titles. Playing career Güneş began his amateur career at Erdoğdu Gençlik as a goalkeeper. Shortly after he was recruited for the Trabzonspor development team, and began playing for the senior team soon after. He played for Trabzonspor for twelve years between 1975 and 1987. During this period he won six league championships. In the 1978–79 season he set the Süper Lig clean sheet record by not conceding a single goal for 1,110 minutes. 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup
The 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup football tournament was the sixth FIFA Confederations Cup, held in France in June 2003. France retained the title they had won in 2001, but the tournament was overshadowed by the death of Cameroon player Marc-Vivien Foé, who died of heart failure in his side's semi-final against Colombia. Foé's death united the France and Cameroon teams in the final match, which was played even though team players from both sides had explicitly stated that the match should not be played out of respect for Foé. France went on to win the trophy with a golden goal from Thierry Henry. At the presentation of medals and trophies, two Cameroon players held a gigantic photo of Foé, and a runner-up medal was hung to the edge of the photo. Ali Kemal Denizci (born 1 March 1950) is a Turkish football manager and former player. A winger, he played for Trabzonspor, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş. He was nicknamed Fırtına Kemal (English: ''Storm Kemal'') because of his lightning pace. Club career Ali Kemal joined Trabzonspor in 1972 after a couple seasons of playing amateur football. He helped the team get promoted to the Süper Lig for the first time in their history, and was their superstar player when they won their first two Süper Lig titles in the 1975–76, and 1976–77 seasons. Necmi Perekli (born 1948) is a former Turkish footballer. Necmi played for Trabzonspor in the late 1970s, becoming the first player of Trabzonspor who became the top scorer in Turkish 1st league (became Turkish Super League since 2002–03 season). The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig.
