Åžaziye Ä°vegin
Şaziye İvegin (born 8 February 1982) is a Turkish retired professional basketball player. A basketball player’s daughter, İvegin started basketball in 7th school class on the same day together with her two younger sisters. The three sisters played in the Adana-based club BOTAŞ, Botaşspor and won twice the Turkish Girls’ Basketball League championship title. At her age of 22, she became the youngest women's basketball team captain (sports), captain in the country. After 10 successful years with Botaş, İvegin transferred to Fenerbahçe Women's Basketball, Fenerbahçe on May 7, 2004. İvegin was member of the Turkey national women's basketball team, Turkish national team that participated at the Turkey at the 2005 Mediterranean Games, 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almería, Spain and won the gold medal. The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. They are strategic and are often relied upon to score, defend, create open lanes, and rebound for their team. The small forward is considered to be perhaps the most versatile of the five main basketball positions as they contribute offensively and defensively.
