The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts ( tr, İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı, İKSV) is a non-profit foundation, based in Turkey. It was founded in 1973 by seventeen businesspeople and art enthusiasts led by Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı The goal of the foundation is to turn Istanbul into a major center within the international culture and arts community. The first international event initiated by the foundation was the ''Istanbul Festival'', first held at 1973, coinciding with the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Turkish Republic. ''Motherland Hotel'' ( tr, Anayurt Oteli) is a 1987 Turkish film directed by Ömer Kavur. It is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Yusuf Atılgan. Plot Zebercet owns a hotel in a small provincial town. He manages to keep it up with the help of one maid, a little girl who lives with him. One evening, one of the clients leaves the hotel, promising to return in a week. Haunted by the memory of the beautiful unknown, it leaves little to be gained by a little melancholy.
