Ōwada Station (Nara)
is an unstaffed railway station in the town of Kawai, Nara, Japan, serving passengers traveling on Kintetsu Railway's Tawaramoto Line. It is 8.2 km (5.1 miles) from Nishi-Tawaramoto, while 1.9 km (1.2 miles) from Shin-Ōji. Services Trains at Ōwada Station leave for both Nishi-Tawaramoto and Shin-Ōji every 20 minutes, while every 15 minutes during peak hours. Travel time to Nishi-Tawaramoto is about 17 minutes while to Shin-Ōji is about 4 minutes. The station is serviced by Nara Kotsu Bus Lines' Route 9 bus at Ōwada Sta. Gate from Kataokadai 1-chome once a day, but the services is alighting only. Kintetsu Railway
, referred to as , is a Japanese passenger railway company, managing infrastructure and operating passenger train service. Its railway system is the largest in Japan, excluding Japan Railways Group. Tawaramoto Line
The is a railway line owned and operated by the Kintetsu Railway, a Japanese private railway company, connecting Ōji Station (Nara) ( Ōji, Nara Prefecture) and Nishi-Tawaramoto Station ( Tawaramoto, Nara Prefecture) in Japan. The line does not connect directly with other Kintetsu Lines, however both terminals are located within walking distance of nearby Kintetsu stations on other lines. History The Yamato Railway Co. opened the Shin-Oji - Nishi-Tawaramoto section in 1918 as a 1067mm gauge line, extending the line to Sakurai on current Kintetsu Osaka Line in 1923. Services on the Nishi-Tawaramoto - Sakurai section ceased in 1944 as a war-time austerity measure, with the section formally closing in 1958. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons.
