Trikomo, Cyprus
Trikomo ( el, Τρίκωμο; Turkish: ''Yeni İskele'') is a town in North-Eastern Mesaoria in Cyprus. It is under the de facto control of Northern Cyprus and is the administrative center of the İskele District of Northern Cyprus. It gained municipality status in 1998. Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation ( tr, Bayrak Radyo Televizyon Kurumu; BRT), is the official radio and television broadcasting corporation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. History The establishment of BRT dates back to the events of December 1963 when intercommunal violence between the Greek and Turkish communities effectively ended the cooperative Republic of Cyprus splitting the island into two as north and south. Until that time, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) was run by Greek Cypriots with minority participation by Turkish Cypriots, who had no independent news source and had to depart from CyBC as the inter communal issues became more violent. Famagusta District ( gr, Επαρχία Αμμοχώστου, Eparchia Ammochostu; tr, Mağusa kazası) is one of the six districts of Cyprus. Its main town is the island's most important port, Famagusta. The Golden Beach ( tr, Altın Kumsal; gr, Ναγγομὶ, Nangomὶ, also known as gr, Χρυσή Ακτή, Chrysí Actí (ellenization of the Turkish name), and Pashi Amos ("Fat Sand Beach")) is a wide sand beach, located near Rizokarpaso in the Karpass Peninsula It stretches about four kilometers from Galunopetra (Iyitaş) cape on the east to Jyles cape on the south-west. On the eastern part, the dunes extend up to 500m towards the inland. The beach area is separated into two sections by a small hill, Adatepe, and by a large light colored sand dune without vegetation.
