ČEZ Aréna (Pardubice)
Enteria arena (formerly Tipsport Arena or ČEZ Arena) is an indoor sporting arena in Pardubice, Czech Republic with maximum capacity of 10,194. History The first artificial ice rink in Pardubice was built there in 1947, later being rebuilt into an indoor ice hockey arena in 1960. In 2001, it was completely renovated to become one of the largest indoor arenas in the Czech Republic. It is currently home to the HC Pardubice ice hockey team, as well as the BK Pardubice basketball team. It hosted the IIHF Ice Hockey World Junior Championships in 2002 and 2008, the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championships in 2011 and 2014, and the men's and women's Ball Hockey World Championships in 2017 and Oktagon Prime 4 in 2021. Pardubice (; german: Pardubitz) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 89,000 inhabitants. It is the capital city of the Pardubice Region and lies on the Elbe River. HC Dynamo Pardubice is a professional ice hockey club that plays in the Czech Extraliga. Its home venue is Enteria arena located in Pardubice. The club was originally named LTC Pardubice, acquiring its current name at the start of the 2015–16 season. History Ice hockey has been played in Pardubice since the beginning of the 20th century. Hockey's beginnings in Pardubice can be traced to the Matiční jezero where bandy, a hockey-like game, was played. This style of hockey was adopted from football – there were 11 players, opposing goals, a ball, and a football-like field. The first match of ice hockey was played in 1913 on the very same lake. Liberec (; german: Reichenberg ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 103,000 inhabitants and it is the fifth-largest city in the country. Oktagon is an international martial arts tournament based in Northern Italy and founded in 1996 by Carlo Di Blasi. The annual Oktagon tournaments, which draw 14,000 spectators, are also broadcast on DMAX and Rai Sport television to 120 countries. Through 2015 (the 20th edition), the tournaments were held at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago, near Milan. In 2016, it was announced that the tournament's venue would move to the Pala Alpitour in Turin and be held jointly with the American MMA promotion organization Bellator. World Junior Hockey Championship
The IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC), or simply the "World Juniors" in ice hockey circles, is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for national under-20 ice hockey teams from around the world. It is traditionally held in late December, ending in early January. The tournament usually attracts the top hockey players in this age category. The main tournament features the top ten ranked hockey nations in the world, comprising the 'Top Division', from which a world champion is crowned. There are also three lower pools—Divisions I, II and III—that each play separate tournaments playing for the right to be promoted to a higher pool, or face relegation to a lower pool. IIHF
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments.
